Your Mind & Your Money – The 2 Divine Factors Of Production (2)

How do you make money when you don’t have any money to start a business? More importantly how do you make a positive impact in your community when you don’t have any funding? Where do you start? You begin with what you have, doing what you can using the 2 divine tools of production: your mind and your mouth.

Let’s look at this:

RECOGNISE YOUR VALUE

There’s value inside you which you must unlock and share with the world. Your purpose in life is to use your mind to find out where your value is, unlock it (the value) and share it with the world.

The world is willing to pay you and financially reward you for the value you’re able to deliver into it. In fact if you’ve ever received money from your job or even from a friend it was because they valued some contribution that you had made or were making in their lives. What you’ve got to do is recognize where your value is then figure out how to take your value from it’s raw unprocessed state and convert it into a polished and finished product.

In this fast paced and competitive world we live in you’ve got to think strategically about your life. First you’ve got to understand that your wealth is not outside of you, it’s inside you. This is what all the successful people in the world figured out.

Successful people have understood that wealth is not in paper but in what you as an individual can contribute to the world to make it a better place by solving society’s problems.

What do you have in you that you can develop, package and share with the world? What are the  biggest problems in your school, community, country and region? Have you thought about this? Is there a way you can use what you know to help find a solution for those problems?

This kind of thinking is what led folks like Albert Einstein to come up with the theory of relativity; this is how Thomas Edison and Nicola Tesla invented the incandescent light bulb, electricity (AC and DC) and motion pictures to mention a few. Using this same principle Walt Disney created the popular cartoon character, Mickey Mouse and went on to build Disney World.

PUT YOUR MIND TO WORK

In the first part of this series I pointed how according to the Judeo-Christian narrative of creation, the creator made man the ultimate master of all his creation on earth and gave him the tools for ultimate mastery on earth.

When we look at the reality of life on earth everything supports the view of mankind as master of all animals, plants and minerals. One of the two tools which man has used to dominate and subdue his world is the mind.

Entrepreneurs like Strive Masiyiwa, Steve Jobs and Aliko Dangote have created new worlds of opportunity, including work opportunities. products and services which the human family is still benefiting from today.

For any of my Christian brothers and sisters reading this I want you to understand something: these people didn’t make these destiny-defining contributions to humanity by praying though some of them believed in prayer.

Their success was not because they were very religious or prayerful – some of these men were even believers, others were immigrants who had very basic education. What set these men apart is that they used their mind. It’s time to put your time to work. Look at your community, take note of the unsolved problems plaguing it and go to work to find solutions.
